CULT
Every now and then a European black metal band comes along that fucking knocks me on my ass. TURULVÉR is one of those bands. Mixing traditional semi-melodic Scandinavian sounds (sort of like DISSECTION and cleaned up early EMPEROR) and more folk-like passages (but only slight touches of them), this pagan horde smashes through the norm. They have just that little bit more that I always crave from black metal. It has atmosphere, and remains dark. Most of the songs are in Hungarian, but it's ok. The music speaks for itself. I'll be listening to this many times in the future.
